„How to graduate from art school“ is a graphic novel written, designed and illustrated as part of my diploma project. With humor and a touch of provocation, it reflects on various experiences from student life and explores the theme of self-development.

The book is split into three chapters: chapter 1 introduces the reader into the world of an art uni and all the problems that arise in this environment. In chapter 2 the main character (the cat) plays with the thought of adapting to the expectations and therefore giving up the true self. However, the cat soon realizes that this is not the path it wants to take and breaks free. This movement – away from expectations and towards the self – is described in chapter 3.
The self-development-aspect of this book is not just pure fiction and feeling. It is backed up by research (mainly by Carl Rogers) about the general underlying pattern of self-development.
